 About The Multimedia Classroom

This flex course helps teachers learn to effectively use several multimedia tools, such as Adobe Spark, Flipgrid, and Canva, to enhance and transform the educational experience of their students. Course participants will gain experience using a framework to evaluate multimedia tools and decide whether or not to adopt them

 Expected Learning Outcomes

At the conclusion of this course participants should be able to:

  • Understand and explain the research-based principles of multimedia learning
  • Use Canva to create educational graphics and images
  • Use GoSynth and/or Anchor to create and post simple educational podcasts
  • Use Adobe Spark to create effective educational posters, graphics, narrated slideshows, and web pages
  • Use Flipgrid to create video-based assignments and discussions for their students
  • Create zooming presentations by using Prezi
  • Locate and effectively use educational video from online sources such as eMedia and YouTube
  • Use principles of media literacy to teach their students how to identify what media are more credible and what media are less credible
  • Use the SAMR model and various frameworks to evaluate multimedia resources and tools

 Final Assessment

Create a teaching/learning resource by using either Canva, GoSynth, Anchor, Adobe Spark, Flipgrid, or Prezi. Depending on what you create, your submission might be in the form of a hyperlink, or it might be a file that you upload.
