About PCBL + Tech in the Classroom
This course is designed to help educators to understand Personalized Competency-Based Learning and which strategies may work for their classrooms. In this course, students will find the necessary links to get started with a variety of PCBL strategies, technologically-enabled classroom learning, Utah's history with PCBL, and how to develop PCBL in their classrooms.

Self-Paced Course
These courses are open-entry/exit with no enrollment cap. All coursework and assignments can be completed at the participants' own pace. There is very limited instructor interaction. This course must be completed by 12/31/2022.
Due to a large number of participants in these courses grading is done on a monthly rotation, usually on the first Monday of each month. It can take an additional week to process the grade through SUU or USBE. Please understand these expectations before registering for this course.
Expected Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this course participants should be able to:
- Understand and share Utah's history with Personalized, Competency-Based Learning (PCBL) including Utah's Portrait of a Graduate, PCBL Framework, and ULEAD
- Teachers will understand the connection between PCBL and technology use in their classroom
- Educators will create a plan for implementing PCBL and technology in their classrooms including student choice and voice, data strategies, and student progress strategies with technologies
- Teachers will engage with other educators across the state to develop connections and strategies for using PCBL in their classrooms
Final Assessment
Create a classroom PCBL plan. This can be in the form of a PCBL Plan Video, Classroom PCBL Plan Lesson Plan, or Learning Environment Portrait of a Graduate graphic.
